BAKERSFIELD, CA (March 11, 2016) – A balanced attack led the Bakersfield Jam (19-22) to a 142-123 home victory over the Delaware 87ers (18-23). The trio of Xavier Silas (25 points, 5 assists), Xavier Munford (24 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists) and Askia Booker (24 points) paced the offensive attack for the Jam.
The Jam went up 35-27 at the end of the first quarter, thanks in part to their hot shooting (69.6%) and their defensive output, holding the 87ers to just 36.4 percent from the field. Bakersfield remained in control in the second period and went into the break with a 70-64 advantage.
In the second half, the Jam continued their hot shooting and extended their lead to as many as 18 points in the third quarter and 22 in the final frame.
Overall, the Jam led from start to finish and scored at least 35 points in every quarter. Bakersfield posted season-highs in points (142), field goals made (56) and field goal percentage (66.7).
Deonte Burton had 18 points off the bench while Cory Jefferson registered a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds to go along with three blocks and two steals. Terrico White added 15 points.
The 87ers were led by David Laury (28 points, 7 rebounds) and Baron Davis (21 points). Rodney Carney came off the bench and scored 19 points.
The Jam return to action on Tuesday, March 15 when they host the Los Angeles D-Fenders at 7:00 p.m. PT.
